Oura Ring rival Circular has unveiled the world's thinnest and lightest health ring, the Circular Ring Slim. At just 2.2mm thick and weighing only 2 grams, the Slim is smaller and lighter than the popular Oura Ring Gen 3. The Circular Slim packs an array of sensors to track activity, sleep and health metrics. It has a 6-day battery life, 3-axis accelerometer, skin temperature sensor, and LED sensors to monitor heart rate and blood oxygen. A unique feature is haptic vibrations that can be used for smart alarms and meditation guidance. The Circular Slim connects to Kira Plus, an AI-powered health and wellness chatbot. Kira Plus acts as a personal coach by responding to user questions based on their personal data.
The Circular Ring Slim is available for pre-order now starting at $245 in the US and £199 in the UK. It ships December 15. The Slim's minimalist design and comprehensive health tracking put it in competition with devices like the Oura Ring and Ultrahuman Ring. Its conversational AI assistant could be an intriguing new feature, though some experts caution against relying too heavily on autonomous AI for health advice. As Samsung prepares to launch its Galaxy Ring in 2024, the smart ring market is expanding. Circular joins Oura and Ultrahuman as leaders in this nascent category. With its svelte profile and sensor array, the Slim makes a play for smart ring supremacy.
