Not only does GPT-4o listen and talk to you — in one of three human-like voices complete with real-life-quality cadence, pitch, and tone — it can also now recall details about previous sessions (think of them as “conversations”). This type of enhanced memory function is being cited as a way to improve AI responses, fuel it in better understanding your specific needs and preferences, and make it an even more seamless “virtual assistant” experience.

Visual Superiority: AI That Sees and Understands

The sensory superiority doesn’t end there, however. ChatGPT-4o also has an improved ability to see, significantly improving its ability to assess visual data and cues and troubleshoot as needed. With more than 50 use-case scenario videos on the OpenAI site, it’s easy to “see” the innovation packed in this new iteration. Of course, with the kudos, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention some of the things to be on the lookout for. Privacy is one of the biggest issues and worries with GPT-4o's improved features and services. There is a chance that the new audio inputs and outputs will be exploited, exposing personal data. Even though OpenAI offers options and techniques to delete your data, the average consumer might not find these procedures particularly obvious or intuitive. It’ll be important for all of us to stay vigilant with how exactly our data is used, that it’s handled securely, and that we know how to remove or update privacy settings and permissions as needed. 

Another worry is general misuse, particularly with regard to 4o's voice and image functionalities.
